Practical Affairs of the Party Branch Calligraphy and Fragrance Transmission and Love Sharing ― A Series of Practical Affairs Activities of the Party Branch in Professional Foreign Languages

    In order to thoroughly implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implement the fundamental tasks of Lideshou people, and give full play to the fighting fortress role of grass-roots Party organizations and the exemplary vanguard role of Party members, The Party Branch of the Department of Foreign Languages of the School of Foreign Languages and Culture Communication has recently launched the first practical project of Party building in 2025 - book donation activity of Book Sharing, Love Sharing. This activity aims to enrich the learning resources of translation graduate students, create a strong academic atmosphere, and promote the construction of a good style of study.

    For the purpose of collecting academic monographs, educational and teaching books, and reference books for scientific research, etc., teachers of the whole college are collected in the graduate study room on the fourth floor of Building 15. Each teacher will sign and write a message on the title page of the book to convey expectations and suggestions to the students, so that each book bears the teacher's care and expectation. The Party Branch will also make statistics and collation of donations as an important part of the annual Party building.

    On January 2, 2025, the Party Branch of the Department of Foreign Languages held the launching ceremony of the book donation activity of Book Scent and Love Sharing in the graduate study room. Party Secretary Gu Xiankai and President Professor Zheng Peiyun attended the meeting. the meeting was presided over by Party Secretary and jointly attended by Party Committee members, Party member teachers and graduate student representatives.

    In his speech, Secretary Gu Xiankai stressed the importance of reading books, and hoped that postgraduate students, especially translation majors, would read widely, continuously improve their cultural literacy and lay a solid foundation for future development. President Zheng Peiyun shared his academic experience and expressed his willingness to donate the professional books he has treasured for years to share with the students. In particular, she pointed out that graduate students majoring in translation should have a solid knowledge of both Chinese and English languages, continuously accumulate in professional learning and continuously improve in reading.

    This book donation is the first practical event of Party building in 2025 for the Party Branch of the Professional Foreign Languages Party Branch, aiming to give full play to the exemplary role of Party members and teachers, promote the sharing of books and resources, and facilitate the growth of graduate students. At the site of the event, eight teacher representatives took the lead in donating more than 120 precious books, marking a good start for the event. The nine graduate representatives expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the teachers for their selfless dedication and pledged to make good use of these valuable learning resources.

    The activity will continue to be organized by the professional foreign language Party branch to solicit books from all teachers. These valuable learning resources will create a good learning environment for translation graduate students and create a strong reading atmosphere. The activities fully reflected the primary mission of the teachers Party branch, and showed the deep feelings of the Party members teachers to care for the growth of students.
