Wang Shiyu Associate Professor

Dr. Wang Shiyu, Associate Professor, Master's Degree Supervisor, Visiting Scholar at the University of Manchester,UK, with research interests in Translation and Interpreting Theory and Practice, and Western Literature Theory. She has published 7 core papers (including 3 CSSCI papers on Translation and Interpreting), written and translated 1 collection of his own poems, edited 1 textbook, chaired 6 projects at university level or above, participated in 1 European Union project, and chaired 1 horizontal project; she has edited more than a million words of English-Chinese and French-Chinese translations of academic monographs, and has served as an interpreter for overseas cultural exchanges (such as cultural activities organized by Confucius Institutes). She has published a number of non-fiction articles in People's Daily (Overseas Edition) and other newspapers and magazines.

She is the main lecturer of "Reading Western Literature", "A Brief History of Translation and Interpreting", "Intercultural Communication", "English Language and Literature for Academic Purposes", etc. In 2013, she received the Certificate of Teaching English for Academic Purposes from Edexcel Higher Education in the UK. "In 2013, she was awarded the Certificate of Teaching English Language and Literature for Academic Purposes by Edexcel Higher Education in the UK; in 2015, she was awarded the Certificate of TESOL Teaching Training by Columbia University and Boston University in the USA; in 2016, she was awarded the Seventh Foreign Language and Literature Teaching Competition of National Universities in Shanghai Competition. "In 2016, she was awarded the Special Prize of the Shanghai Region of the Seventh National Foreign Language Teaching Competition for Colleges and Universities; the Third Prize ofthe National Final of the Seventh Foreign Language Teaching Competition for Colleges and Universities; and the Seventh Outstanding Teaching Award of the University, the first place in the teaching competition in 2016.
