EUErasmus + HE Faculty Capacity Enhancement Program Successfully Passes ACQUIN Accreditation

The EU Erasmus+ project "Future - Oriented Academic Teacher Education with InnovativeMethodologies for Next-Gen Asian HEIs" (FRACTION), in which ouruniversity participated, has been successfully completed and accredited byACQUIN. The project "Future - OrientedAcademic Teacher Education with Innovative Methodologies for Next-Gen AsianHEIs" (FRACTION), in which we participated, has been successfullycompleted and accredited by ACQUIN.

In 2019,our projectteam successfully applied for the program together with 13 university teams from 7 countries including Poland,Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, India and Vietnam. The project introduces thelatest achievements of graduate education from many universities in Germany andSpain, and assists professional teachers to improve their theoretical andpractical abilities in teaching by means of teacher training. Six full-timeteachers from the School of Foreign Languages and Cultural Communication andthe School of Mathematics and Statistics, as well as four postgraduate studentsfrom the School of Vocational and Technical Teacher Education were the firstbatch of trainees to take part in the "Academic Program" and pass theassessment, and they will be awarded the certificate of completion officiallycertified by ACQUIN. Erasmus+ advocates for the sustainable impact of theprogram, and this accreditation is an important support for the program. The Center of Teaching Excellence, built with theproject's funds, is located in the School of Foreign Languages and Cultural Communicationand is an important base for the operation of the project and a branch of theCenter for Teaching Excellence of the School. The training of theproject courses will be open to all teachers and students of the university,and at a later stage, it is also planned to be embedded in the process ofpostgraduate training of Shanghai Vocational & Technical Teacher EducationSchool, which will further promote the improvement of the capacity of theuniversity's teachers and the high-quality development of postgraduate training.

       

ACQUIN is known as Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute for Higher Education (ACQUIN), which is a higher education quality assessment organization authorized by the German Accreditation Council (German Accreditation Council). ACQUIN is an organization authorized by the German Accreditation Council toassess the quality of higher education, and its professional certificates arenot only authoritative in the European Union, but also widely recognized internationally, ACQUIN has more than 160 colleges and universities and professional institutions in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Lebanon and Bulgaria. German elite universities (TU9) accredited by ACQUIN include: University of Munich, Technische Universität München, University of Heidelberg, Freie Universität Berlin,University of Tübingen and others.
