Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI)

Purpose of the program

The Master ofTranslation and Interpreing (MTI) program atShanghai Polytechnic University(SSPU) aims to train high-level professionalEnglish-Chinese translators in thefield of science and technology, especiallyin advanced manufacturing. Graduatesfrom the program are expected to have abroad knowledge structure and proficienttranslation skills, who can servevarious translation needs from home andabroad.

Program duration and main features

Thisis a full-time program that lasts 2.5 years. It is possibleto shorten orextend the period of study upon applications, but the maximumperiod ofextension is one year.

Credit Requirements and Courses

Students enrolled in the MTI program arerequired to get at least47 credits within the stipulated study period,including 5 credits from generalcourses (compulsory), 24 credits from core courses(compulsory), 16 credits fromcore courses (elective) and 2 credits from other compulsorycourses.
