SSPU teachers and students contribute to the 2023 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day in Pudong New Area

    On June 10, the curtain was raised on the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day in Pudong New Area. Teachers and students of the second engineering university are invited to participate in the activities and organize student associations, etiquette teams and volunteers to empower the cultural activities of the co-construction unit. At the opening ceremony, the school was awarded the title of Shanghai Hustle Embroidery Inheritance Training Base, and became the Cooperative Unit for the Product Design and Manuscript in Pudong New Area in 2023.      Study on New Forms of Aheredity Inheritance and Transmission by Deep Excavation of Aheredity Resources

     On June 2 this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech when he attended a symposium on cultural inheritance and development, stressing that we will continue to promote cultural prosperity at a new starting point, build a cultural power, and build a modern Chinese civilization. It is our new cultural mission in the new era. We must be culturally confident, shoulder our mission, work hard to create a new culture of our time and build a modern civilization of the Chinese nation. In the new era, the best protection and inheritance of intangible heritage in colleges and universities is to continuously inspire young people to enter into intangible heritage, inherit intangible heritage, and create new forms of intangible heritage into people's lives; and the best dissemination of intangible heritage is to make use of the knowledge they have learned. The communication characteristics of social media era are fully studied to create a new form of intangible communication that belongs to the era.

     There are 11 units awarded the license, and our school is the only university in Shanghai to be awarded the license. In November 2019, our school signed a cooperation framework agreement with Shanghai Pudong Culture and Art Guidance Center. In the past five years, relying on the Shanghai Pudong New Area Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center jointly built by the university, the university has cultivated think tanks for intangible cultural heritage research, offered intangible cultural heritage courses, established intangible cultural heritage associations, and organized intangible cultural heritage activities. In-depth research on the education path of colleges and universities with the content of intangible cultural heritage has made some stage achievements, with practical actions to inherit the excellent Chinese traditional culture, and contribute to the prosperity of Shanghai culture.

Inject Young Vitality and Promote the New Form of Intangible Cultural Heritage Fair

    The year 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage. the two-day themed event will bring together 83 intangible cultural heritage projects in Pudong, a number of popular art museums and online celebrities. Throughout the day, all kinds of performances, experience, Hanfu costume parade and other activities will be arranged. This year's intangible cultural heritage activities pay special attention to interaction with young people, hoping to call on young people to enter intangible cultural heritage, feel intangible cultural heritage and fall in love with intangible cultural heritage through activities that conform to their lifestyles and interests. Let the non-legacy in the participation of young people coruscate a new vitality.

    Therefore, our school has actively organized the intangible cultural heritage transfer club and the Yayi Chinese Culture Club, and carefully planned a variety of participatory and interactive traditional cultural projects. On-site activities such as Han-fu experience, fan-making and game of pitching attracted a large number of citizens, demonstrated the enthusiasm of young people in colleges and universities to protect and inherit intangible cultural heritage, and injected young vitality into the activities. Constructing a Series of Courses and Constructing a New System of Non-Hereditary Cultivation

    On the morning of June 10, the 7th special event of Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, Embroidery on the Side - Shanghai Fleece Embroidery's Journey around the World, was simultaneously opened at the China Art Palace (Shanghai Art Museum). Under the direction of the Shanghai Municipal Culture and Tourism Administration, the show is co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the Pudong New Area CPC Committee (Sports and Tourism Administration) and the Chinese Palace of Art (Shanghai Art Museum). More than 100 pieces of woolen embroidery and nearly 30 sets of exquisite cultural and creative products were displayed at the exhibition. Students of our school were invited to participate in the Relay Embroidery for 100 Persons activity, and under the guidance of teacher Bao Yanhui, the inheritor of cashmere embroidery, participated in the embroidery work Embroidery a Colorful World (the work size is 189 × 83.5cm, about 1.6 square meters). The relay was also a concentrated display of the aesthetic education achievements of one of the series courses of our school - Going into the intangible cultural heritage - Shanghai cashmere embroidery.

    Since 2019, our school has been actively exploring the education resources of intangible cultural heritage projects. It has successively built into intangible heritage - Shanghai cashmere embroidery, into intangible heritage - Shanghai school paper-cut, into intangible heritage - Shanghai folk music, into intangible heritage - Shanghai folk stories, into intangible heritage - the practice of cultural and creative enterprises A series of courses and intangible cultural heritage courses have taken shape, and a revolving door of teachers inside and outside the school has been set up to invite non-genetic trainees and experts to teach in the school. We will guide students to participate in various projects such as innovation and entrepreneurship, summer practice, and challenge cup, and gradually build a teaching and research system to cultivate young inheritors of intangible heritage.

Using the wisdom of colleges and universities to explore the new ideas of non-legacy design

In recent years, in order to deeply explore the spiritual connotation of intangible cultural heritage and make cultural and creative products an important carrier for college teachers and students to understand Chinese culture and enhance their cultural confidence, Our school has also made active explorations in the design of non-legacy products. Since 2019, many cultural and creative products designed by our school with the theme of inheriting the red gene have also won the support and favor of teachers and students. In the theme activity, our school became the collaboration unit of the 2023 collection for design of intangible cultural heritage products in Pudong New Area. Together with the Shanghai Pudong New Area Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, Shanghai University of Applied Technology, Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, Shanghai University, Donghua University and other institutions and universities, We will explore new ideas and new ideas of non-legacy design and make more contributions to promoting the intellectual empowerment of the cultural and creative industry in colleges and universities.

    It is reported that in 2024, our school will host the Shanghai Woolen Embroidery Design Competition, hosted by the Cultural and Art Guidance Center of Shanghai Pudong New Area and the Shanghai Hustle Embroidery Association, with the Shanghai Hustle Embroidery Project as the core content. Select elements suitable for cultural and creative product development and packaging innovation such as project skills, historical evolution, and content theme, in accordance with the requirements of telling a good Chinese story, spreading a good Chinese voice and presenting a true, three-dimensional and all-round China. In combination with the concept of carrying forward China's fine traditional culture and innovating in the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, we will design a batch of cultural and creative products that adapt to the development of the new era and conform to the aesthetic taste of modern people, so as to bring intangible heritage back into people's life.     In the future, the University will further explore and sort out the intangible resources of Shanghai, better integrate intangible projects with teaching and research, focus on their educational function and conduct in-depth research, and further build a collaborative educational platform for government, industry, education and research. To guide teachers and students to actively participate in the protection, inheritance and dissemination of intangible cultural heritage, and to enhance the young people's sense of identity, pride and sense of acquisition of the fine Chinese traditional culture.
